Car gadgets worth ordering to Israel

Two dash cams, a car charger and two jump starters, one with a tire inflator, we'd order to Israel, ranked, with honest notes on parking mode, wireless gear and what the amp number on a jump starter means.

Start with a dash cam: the 70mai M310 Plus is our first pick and the DDPAI Mini Pro 3K is the sharper one, and both stay under $75. The jump starters are over it, so expect 18% VAT on them. Check wireless gear against the Tax Authority’s calculator before you order. Last checked .

How we picked

We kept branded gear with high positive seller feedback from many buyers and specs that make sense, and left out no-name jump starters with unbelievable capacity claims. Every verdict says what we couldn’t verify, and where a listing quotes a huge number we say we treat it as marketing. Order is our judgment of quality and fit; the commission never affects it. The details are on how we pick.

Our picks, ranked

Best For: A first dash cam

Number 1: 70mai M310 Plus 2K Dash Cam

Sharp 2K front recording with a wide lens and a bright aperture for night driving, from an established dash-cam brand, with voice control so your hands stay on the wheel. The trade-off: it records the front only, and its 24-hour parking guard usually needs a hardwire kit.

Who It’s For

Drivers who want clear front footage as a record of what happened, or for peace of mind.

Best For: The sharpest picture

Number 2: DDPAI Mini Pro 3K Dash Cam

Very sharp 3K front recording with HDR for tunnels and bright sun, from a dash-cam specialist, in a small body that tucks behind the mirror, with Wi-Fi built in. The trade-off: it records the front only, and parking monitoring usually needs a hardwire kit.

Who It’s For

Drivers who want the sharpest front footage in a small body.

Best For: Charging everyone

Number 3: Baseus 160W 4-Port Car Charger

A four-port car charger with 160W in total over USB-C and USB-A, enough for a laptop and several phones on a long drive, from a branded maker rather than a risky no-name plug. The trade-off: it needs good cables to reach full speed, and the listing is unclear about its magnetic feature.

Who It’s For

Drivers who charge a laptop and several phones in the car.

Best For: A jump starter with a tire inflator

Number 4: UTRAI BD70 Jump Starter with Tire Inflator

A jump starter, power bank and cordless tire inflator in one case, with a display for battery level and tire pressure and a manual override for a fully flat battery. It's over the import-tax line, so expect VAT; the table shows its tax status. The trade-off: the listing gives no inflation speed or run time, and we treat its 4000A figure as a marketing number.

Who It’s For

Drivers who want one emergency kit in the trunk for a dead battery or a soft tire.

Best For: A jump starter that is also a power bank

Number 5: UTRAI 4000A Portable Jump Starter Power Bank

A mid-size jump starter from a jump-starter specialist that doubles as a power bank for a blackout and is easy to keep in the trunk. It's over the import-tax line, so expect VAT; the table shows its tax status. The trade-off: it needs topping up every few months, it has no built-in compressor and a short track record, and we treat its 4000A figure as a marketing number.

Who It’s For

Drivers who want a jump starter that also charges a phone.

What to know before you buy

What the amp number on a jump starter means

The 4000A on both UTRAI listings is a peak-current figure, and we can’t verify how it was measured. We don’t rank on it. We chose them for the brand, the size and the extras: both work as a power bank, and the BD70 adds a tire inflator. Pick by your engine size and by what else you want the unit to do.

Parking mode needs power

Both dash cams list a 24-hour parking mode. That usually needs a hardwire kit, because the camera has to keep drawing power when the car is off. Plan for that before you count on it.

Wireless gear and permits

Most everyday wireless gear is exempt from approval, but only the products the rules name. Low-power Bluetooth devices, laptops and tablets are on that list, as are Wi-Fi routers, phones, smart speakers and some cameras (baby, security and doorbell cameras) up to five of a kind. The sources are in our tax guide.

A dash cam with Wi-Fi isn’t named there, so confirm it in the Tax Authority’s personal import calculator (in Hebrew) before you order. The same guide lists car spare parts as needing Ministry of Transport approval. The picks here are accessories and tools rather than parts that go into the car, but the calculator is the place to check a specific product.

Tax and packages

Up to $75 of goods in a package, there’s no import VAT; above it, you pay 18% VAT, plus other taxes on some goods, and two orders from the same seller within 72 hours count as one (Tax Authority guide, chapter 4). Both jump starters are over the line, so compare their all-in prices with a local store. Our tax rules guide has worked examples.

This is a shopper’s summary, not tax advice. For your specific case, check the Israel Tax Authority calculator or ask a customs broker.

When a local store is the better route

If you want someone to install a dash cam, or a local warranty, a local store may suit you better than an import. Compare the all-in price, including VAT and fees. We don’t give legal advice on how to use dash-cam footage, and we found no guidance on it from an Israeli authority for private drivers, so we’ve left that topic out.
