How We Pick
972 picks is a short list, not a firehose. A product makes the list only if it passes all of these.
What a pick has to pass
- Real evidence of quality. At least 94% positive seller feedback from many buyers, a seller with a track record, and specs that make sense. If a listing claims something we do not believe, such as a pocket battery with 99,000mAh or “4K” on a 1080p projector, we leave the claim out or leave the product out.
- A fair price for Israel. We compare the price you would actually pay, after any working code, with what the same product usually sells for. If you can easily get it noticeably cheaper, we drop it.
- Honest about tax. Every pick shows whether import VAT is likely to apply. Pricier picks are welcome when they are worth it, and we tell you about the VAT up front.
- No fakes or risky gear. No knockoffs, no “original quality” copies, no no-name mains power adapters, and no bait listings where the headline price is for a tiny variant.
- Fits real life here. Plugs, apps, sizes and delivery to Israel. If it will not work well here, it is not a pick.
- Not too much of the same. We would rather show you three great chargers than fifteen similar ones.
We start from AliExpress’s best sellers and trending products, plus what readers ask Picky for.
How we show tax
The tax badge on each pick follows the price after the seller’s own code. We do not count store-wide coupons, coins, points or card offers, because customs may use the price before those discounts. Our tax rules guide has the details and the sources.
Coupon Codes
We use a code in a price only when it comes from the store or the program itself, or several unrelated sources confirm it. We must have seen it in the last week, and it needs a known end date. Codes are a bonus. We never pick a product because of a code.
How often we check prices
Every pick shows the date and time we last checked its price, in Israel time. Prices and codes change fast, so the store’s checkout always has the final word.
Our system re-checks prices every day and keeps looking for new picks. A pick that stops passing our rules comes off the list. Its page stays up, marked as no longer on our list, with similar picks beside it.
How we earn money
We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. The commission never affects what we pick. Read how we make money.
Who writes this
Our system finds candidates and checks each one against these rules. Picks that pass go live, and the site admin, Todd Edelman, reviews every new pick within a few days, removing anything that isn’t good enough. Notes are drafted with AI help from the listing and its photos, then checked in the same review. Guides are written and edited by Todd. AI tools help with research. Picky answers from our list first. If we don’t have it, it may show a product from AliExpress marked “Not vetted yet”.
Corrections
If something is wrong, tell us. We fix errors quickly, update the “last checked” date, and note material corrections at the bottom of the guide.
What we are not
We are not a store, and we are not tax or legal advisers. Our tax guides are a shopper’s summary with sources. For your own case, check the Israel Tax Authority or ask a customs broker.
