Hanukkah gifts under the tax threshold
Eight gift picks for teens, family and friends that stay under the import-VAT line, plus how to count back from the first candle so the packages arrive on time.
Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday, December 4, 2026, so count back from that date and leave room for customs. All eight picks stay under $75 on their own, but gifts ordered from one seller within 72 hours are added together for tax. Last checked .
When do I need to order by?
Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday, December 4, 2026, and ends at nightfall on Saturday, December 12 (Hebcal). Work backward from the night you want the gift in hand.
The date to order by is that night, minus the delivery estimate at the store’s checkout, minus a margin. We don’t print a delivery time here, because stores change their estimates and we can’t verify one for every pick. The checkout estimate is the one to trust.
Customs can add a step. Packages that owe tax wait for payment before delivery, and with Israel Post you pay beforehand using the reference number in the notice (chapter 9; see who collects the tax). Each pick below is under the line on its own, so none should owe tax by itself.
If you’re sending a gift to someone else in Israel, the same rules apply: there’s no separate gift allowance (chapter 8).

How we picked
Every pick passed the same checks as the rest of 972 picks: high positive seller feedback from many buyers, a fair price for Israel, and specs that make sense, with a note on what we couldn’t verify. For this guide we also kept only picks that stay under the import-VAT line on their own, and left out anything that needs a permit. The order is our judgment of quality and fit; the commission never affects it. The details are on how we pick.
Our picks, ranked

Best For: Teens and commuters
Number 1: UGREEN Max5c ANC Over-Ear Headphones
Active noise canceling and a long battery, from an established accessories brand, which makes it the most gift-like pick here. The trade-off: the high-resolution LDAC and Hi-Res audio need a phone that supports them. The listing's noise and battery figures are best-case numbers.
Who It’s For
Teens, commuters and travelers who want quiet and a long battery.

Best For: Anyone who loses keys
Number 2: UGREEN Find My and Find Hub Bluetooth Tracker
One tracker for a mixed iPhone and Android family: the listing says it works with both Apple Find My and Android Find Hub, and it recharges over USB-C instead of taking coin cells. The trade-off: it needs a charge about once a year, and the listing shows tags in more than one pack size, so check which one you're ordering.
Who It’s For
Anyone who wants to track keys or a bag in a household with both kinds of phone.

Best For: The organizer
Number 3: NIIMBOT B1 Bluetooth Label Printer
A small thermal label printer that prints from a phone with no ink at all. It suits a new apartment, a pantry or a school bag. The trade-off: thermal prints can fade with heat and sunlight, so it's for jars and drawers, not for a label on a sunny window.
Who It’s For
Anyone organizing a new apartment, a pantry or a classroom.

Best For: Tea drinkers and hikers
Number 4: TYESO Stainless-Steel Vacuum Flask, 530 or 750ml
A double-wall stainless flask with vacuum insulation, in two sizes, from a dedicated drinkware brand. It suits hot tea on a commute or cold water on a trail. The trade-off: the listing doesn't say how long it keeps heat, and we haven't verified the lid seal, so skip it for a bag where a spill would hurt.
Who It’s For
Commuters and hikers who want hot tea or cold water on the move.

Best For: A practical gift for travelers
Number 5: MIJIA Sonic Pro Electric Toothbrush
A sonic toothbrush from Xiaomi's MIJIA appliance range, with four modes, a small screen and a travel lock so it doesn't switch on inside a bag. The trade-off: replacement brush heads are a recurring cost, and we haven't confirmed you can buy matching ones from a local pharmacy.
Who It’s For
Anyone who wants a sonic brush with modes and a screen that also travels well.

Best For: Home trims, for him
Number 6: ENCHEN Beardo 2 USB-C Hair Clipper
A small rechargeable hair and beard clipper that charges over USB-C, so any phone charger works and there's no proprietary charger to lose. It packs easily into a toiletry bag. The trade-off: we couldn't verify blade quality or battery life, and the listing doesn't say which comb sizes come in the box.
Who It’s For
Anyone who wants a small clipper for home trims and travel.

Best For: Cyclists and gym-goers
Number 7: COOSPO HW9 Armband Heart-Rate Monitor
An armband heart-rate sensor that pairs over Bluetooth LE and ANT+ and lists support for Peloton, Zwift and Wahoo, so it moves between a phone and a bike computer. The trade-off: optical armbands lose accuracy when worn loose, and a chest strap gives the most accurate reading.
Who It’s For
Cyclists and gym users who want a steady heart-rate feed for their apps.
Paid link · Price checked

Best For: A small extra
Number 8: Rechargeable Mini LED Clip-On Flashlight
A mini clip-on flashlight that recharges, so there are no spare batteries to buy, and clips to a hat brim or a keychain. It makes an easy small extra beside a bigger gift. The trade-off: at this size, brightness and runtime are limited, so it isn't the one for a long search.
Who It’s For
Campers, dog walkers and DIYers who want a small light always on hand.

What to know before you buy
Gifts from one seller add up
Each pick is under $75 alone. But packages from the same seller to the same person within 72 hours count as one shipment, and customs adds their values together (chapter 4; Personal Import Order, 2019, section 3). Above $75 you pay 18% VAT on the whole value, plus other taxes on some goods. Check the goods total of each package in your order summary before you pay.
This is a shopper’s summary, not tax advice. For your specific case, check the Israel Tax Authority calculator or ask a customs broker.
Bluetooth gifts and approval
Low-power Bluetooth devices with a built-in antenna need no Ministry of Communications approval for personal import. The headphones and the tracker fall in that group, and our tax guide has the sources. The heart-rate sensor also uses ANT+, which that exemption doesn’t mention, so check the Tax Authority’s personal import calculator if you’re unsure.
Check the pack and the variant
Some listings sell more than one size, color or pack, and the price on the card is for one variant. Open the listing and confirm which one you’re choosing before you pay.
