Black Friday From Israel
Black Friday and Cyber Monday dates for shoppers in Israel, how to judge a discount, and the one trap in a sale cart: a package that crosses the import-tax line. Plain answers, checked against the Tax Authority.
Black Friday is on Friday, November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30. Israeli stores hold their own online sale, ShoppingIL, on November 4 and 5. The trap is a cart that crosses $75 in one package: above it you pay 18% VAT, plus other taxes on some goods, and a sale price doesn’t change that. Last checked .
When are the sales?
AliExpress’s 11.11 sale runs until November 18; our 11.11 guide has the dates and codes.
ShoppingIL, the two-day sale for Israeli online stores that Google runs with the Ministry of Economy as a partner, is expected on Wednesday and Thursday, November 4 and 5 (ShoppingIL terms, in Hebrew). Our ShoppingIL guide explains how it works.
Black Friday is the day after US Thanksgiving, which makes it Friday, November 27, 2026. Cyber Monday follows on November 30.
If you’re buying gifts, count backward from the holiday. Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday, December 4, 2026, and ends at nightfall on Saturday, December 12 (Hebcal). Shipping estimates are on each store’s page, and our Hanukkah gifts guide has picks that stay under the line.
How do I tell if a discount is real?
A crossed-out “was” price is the seller’s own claim, and nobody checks it for you. A few habits help more than any coupon:
- Write down prices now. Screenshot the three or four things you actually want this week, with the date. A sale price is only a saving if it’s below what the item cost before.
- Compare the total, not the headline. Add shipping, and import VAT if the package will be over $75. Then compare with the same model in another store.
- Check the date on the price. Every pick on 972 picks shows when we last checked its price, in Israel time. During a sale, a price from yesterday may already be gone.
What is the invite-only Elite club?
Elite is a free club that AliExpress launched in Israel on October 18, 2026. You can’t sign up: the company invites shoppers based on their purchase history. Members get an extra 5% off items with the Elite label and 8% off eligible items on the first of each month (AliExpress on PR Newswire). Check the app for an Elite tag before you count on it.
For the import-tax line, plan on the price before the Elite discount: AliExpress hasn’t said who pays for it, and the Tax Authority’s guide doesn’t cover marketplace discounts (chapter 3). Our Elite club guide covers what members get, what it leaves out and whether it’s worth chasing.
Which import-tax rules matter on a sale day?
Import tax is where sale shopping goes wrong. Each rule below comes from the Israel Tax Authority’s guide to personal importation:
- It’s per package. Up to $75 of goods, no import VAT. Over it, you pay 18% VAT on the whole value, not just the part above the line, plus other taxes on some goods (chapter 4).
- Shipping charged separately isn’t counted for the test. Once the goods are over the line, tax is calculated on goods plus shipping and insurance (chapter 5).
- Orders from the same seller within 72 hours count as one. Customs adds their values together, so two orders placed on the same day don’t stay separate (chapter 4; Personal Import Order, 2019, section 3). Orders from different suppliers, or from the same one more than 72 hours apart, are counted separately.
- Points, vouchers and collected credit don’t lower the value. For those, customs uses the price before the discount. A discount the seller itself gives on the item, shown on the invoice, is part of the price you paid (chapter 3). Marketplace coupons aren’t covered by the guide, so plan on the price before them.
- The dollar rate on arrival day is the one that counts. A cart close to the line can tip over if the dollar moves between checkout and delivery (chapter 3).
This is a shopper’s summary, not tax advice. For your specific case, check the Israel Tax Authority calculator or ask a customs broker.
What about Israeli stores’ sales?
Israeli retailers such as KSP run their own Black Friday sales, and each sets its own dates and terms. Many Israeli online stores also join ShoppingIL on November 4 and 5; our ShoppingIL guide covers how to judge those offers and your right to cancel. They’re worth a look for anything that would land over the line, because you compare one all-in price instead of price plus VAT plus fees. Read the store’s return and warranty terms before you buy, the same way you would abroad.
For an import, the tax rules guide shows how each tax is worked out, so you can compare the real total.
Which of our picks are worth watching?
These four are in the catalog now: headphones, a projector, a charger and a label printer. The projector is our over-the-line example, so its card carries the VAT note. Each card shows its import-tax status and when we checked its price. On a sale day, check the store’s own price before you order.

FAQ
When is Black Friday in Israel in 2026?
Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after US Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday is November 30. Each store, including Israeli ones, sets its own sale dates, so check the store’s sale page.
Does a sale discount lower what customs counts?
It depends on who gives it. The Tax Authority doesn’t recognize points, vouchers and compensation credit; customs uses the price before them. A seller’s own discount on the invoice is part of the price paid.
Is shipping counted toward the limit?
Not for the threshold test, when it’s charged separately. Once the goods are over the line, tax is calculated on goods plus shipping and insurance.
