Where’s my package? Tracking orders to Israel

Which company has your package, where to track it, what to do when it waits for customs, and how to tell a real payment message from a fake one, with sources from Israel Post and the Tax Authority.

Your order page or confirmation names the carrier and gives a tracking number; track it on that carrier’s own site, or paste it into our package tracker and we’ll open the right one. If a message asks you to pay customs, don’t tap the link: open the carrier’s app or site yourself. Israel Post says its real messages show only postil.co.il or israelpost.co.il. Last checked .

Who delivers my package?

The store and the shipping option you chose decide which company carries it, and the order page or confirmation names it. In Israel, the last leg is run either by Israel Post or by a courier company such as Exelot or Cheetah. The Tax Authority’s guide treats the two differently when it comes to paying tax (chapter 9), so it’s worth knowing which one you have.

How do I track it?

Use the tracking page of the company that has the package, and the number from your order confirmation. Not sure which company that is? Paste the number into our tracker and it opens the likely one.

  • Israel Post: has an English delivery tracking page.
  • Exelot: track from its site.
  • Cheetah: its site has a tracking link in the menu.
  • The store: the order page in the store’s app or site shows the same tracking number and the carrier’s name.

What happens when it arrives in Israel?

Up to $75 of goods in a package, there’s no import VAT. Above it, you pay 18% VAT, plus other taxes on some goods, and the package waits for that payment (Tax Authority guide, chapter 4). Our tax rules guide has the details.

  • Israel Post packages: you pay before delivery, using the reference number in the notice, in cash at the branch or by card online. Israel Post sends a text message with the amount, and its app shows a payment link next to the package’s status.
  • Courier packages: the courier’s customs broker pays customs, and the courier collects from you, usually at the door. Couriers send their own text or email.

Both come from the Tax Authority’s chapter 9 and Israel Post’s customs release page.

This is a shopper’s summary, not tax advice. For your specific case, check the Israel Tax Authority calculator or ask a customs broker.

How do I spot a fake payment message?

Fake texts asking you to pay a customs fee are common. Israel Post says its real messages show only one of two web addresses, postil.co.il or israelpost.co.il, and that it doesn’t ask for sensitive personal information by text message or email. It advises against clicking links in a message and says to go to its site yourself (Israel Post’s page on spotting phishing messages, in Hebrew; the page shows no date, and we read it on October 18, 2026).

A package is stuck. What can I do?

  1. Check the tracking page of the carrier named on your order.
  2. Look for a payment request. A package that owes tax waits for payment before delivery (see above).
  3. Ask the store. Open the order in the store’s app and message the seller. The store’s own buyer-protection page states its dispute window; read it when you order, because the window varies by store.
  4. If you were charged wrongly, you can appeal. Israel Post shipments can be appealed before you pay, and courier shipments after you pay, by online form (chapter 11; see how to appeal).

What about lockers and pickup points?

Cheetah describes Cheetah Shops as a network of delivery points across the country, located in existing businesses (Cheetah). If your checkout offers a locker or pickup point, read its address in the confirmation before you travel. We haven’t verified which carriers run lockers for imported orders, so we don’t list them here.

Checklist

  • Find the carrier and the tracking number on your order page.
  • Track it on the carrier’s own site.
  • Know whether Israel Post or a courier has it, because paying works differently.
  • Never pay through a link in a message. Open the carrier’s app or site yourself.
  • Keep screenshots of your order and its total.
